Billy Mayfair and Ian Poulter kicked off the tournament this morning at 8
a.m., and they are quickly approaching the turn.
Ian would really like the jacket to match those pants, but I don't think it's going to happen.
No one is off to a blazing start, just yet. I promise to blog as often as
possible. But, as I mentioned earlier in the week, Augusta National strictly
prohibits the use of cell phones on the course, even for e-mail purposes.
So, I will pop into the clubhouse as much as possible.
Don't expect anything for a few hours, though. I'm working on a super-secret
special mission that will keep me under the radar for a while.
Let me know in your comments if there are specific things you would like to
know, and I will try to answer as many questions as I can.
Don't forget that you can watch live from Amen Corner at Masters.org
As for the superstars, Phil Mickelson tees off at 10:56 a.m., and Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh are at 1:52 and 2:03, respectively.
Think it's just a coincidence that Woods tees off in the third-to-last group, when the greens will be far from ideal?

Don't worry about those old men (officials) you can out run them... I look forward to the updates.

I'm very interested in the ethics involved in golf.
I know you said Agusta does not permit cell phones, but how about other ways of picking up information and relaying comments?
For instance can a player take advantage of tv (radio) commentator's comments. Such as, remarks like, most of those that have putted from that position on this hole have been surprised when their putt rolled to the right instead of th going left. Or the players can't tell from where they are but there is a strong wind blowing everything to the left, etc.
I enjoyed your article about Mark Calcavecia and his caddy. I wanted to show it to my wife but can no longer find it .
