Mike Nifong, the district attorney who brought rape charges against the three Duke lacrosse players who were declared innocent yesterday, has apologized to them and said North Carolina's attorney general was correct to drop charges.It's an apology that rings incredibly hollow to Nifong's three victims. The picture you see here shows a sign posted in Durham, N.C., reading,
Nifong Admit how wrong you were! How Stupid - Stop while you can save face And Apologize. Lacrosse deserves it!
The photo was taken on April 11, 2006. Thanks to Nifong's gross misconduct, one full year passed before the charges were dropped.

Mike Nifong was acting as an agent of the State of North Carolina. His conduct surpasses negligence and was reckless and malicious malfeasance in furtherance of his own elected position. The State of North Carolina not only should reimburse the families, but also Duke University for the enormous waste of resources and time spent on this. Also, all State Attorneys General offices should learn a lesson from this fiasco and keep a tighter reign on their local district attorneys.

Mike Nifong should be counter sued by all these kids accused, as well as be apologizing to the entire Duke lacrosse team and staff. Because of this ignorant mans actions, three lives were put on hold, one team was wrongfully persecuted, and the families had ot pay for all this legal defense when there was none necessary if the facts were listened to by Nifong. He has a job to do, and he neglected to do it to the best of his abilities. He should be stripped of his job and pay back the families for this.

These kids come from well to do families with plenty of legal connections. To use an old lacrosse term, their attorneys are gonna “Take it to the cooker” with Duke & the state of NC.
