For understandable reasons, Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson doesn't like to talk about the future. He's 88 years old, and when people ask him about the future of the franchise, what they're really asking is, "Will the team stay in Buffalo when you die?"But it's a question that people in Buffalo have a right to ask, and, in a rare move, it's a question Wilson addressed, to an extent, in an interview with the Buffalo News. Wilson said the team will be sold on his death, not bequeathed to his wife or his daughters. And Wilson knows he can't guarantee that the buyer will keep the team in Buffalo:
"You don't know what's going to happen in the future. Nobody does."
The Bills' lease in their current stadium runs through 2012, but a new owner could buy it out for just $30 million -- that's chump change to the type of businessman who would be able to buy an NFL team and move it to a market that doesn't already have one -- like, say, Los Angeles.
