WWE hottie Candice Michelle took a nasty spill off the top rope and landed face-first on the canvas in a match against Beth Phoenix on Raw Monday night, and the incident is raising renewed questions about whether WWE cares enough about its employees' safety. This is the official WWE.com video:
The Chris Benoit murder-suicide led to an increased round of criticism of the pro wrestling business and the impact that steroids have on the entertainers' lives outside the ring. But safety inside the ring is also a problem with pro wrestling.
Michelle will only be out six to eight weeks with a broken collarbone, but Pulse Wrestling argues that she could have been injured much more seriously, and that WWE puts wrestlers in the ring who just don't have the athletic talent necessary to do what's asked of them.
That certainly seems to be the case here: Michelle, who appeared in Playboy in 2006, has appeal to many fans regardless of whatever athleticism she may display.
UPDATE: See video of the aftermath, as Michelle is carried off on a stretcher, only to choke when she tries to get a drink of water.

look injuries happen and sadly allot involve spinal/neck injuries but that's life in football and boxing the risk is just as great.
Point is that these wrestlers KNOW thats they're risking big time but they do it anyway because they enjoy wrestling.Nobody forces these wrestlers to perform night in night out they choose to.

In the original "live" show you could here the ref say "pull her out and pin her". Real good after a possible neck injury.

All jokes aside (implants etc) the fact is that these wrestlers, male and female alike are aware that their are risks... if they came in with blinders on that would be one thing, but the fact remains that they are aware of the risks, last year I believe it was, Candice's nose was shattered shortly after her playboy shoot... to the point that it had to be reconstructed. She came back to continue wrestling. She has had personal experience with injuries and has come back. That is why there are many commericals and have been about wrestlers do what they do and are professionals, aware of the risk, and that the general public should not try it at home... Sid vicious, broken leg, Brett Hart kicked and suffered a neck injury, HHH quad rip, Cena, Pec rip... those injuries weren't about steroids, they were about professionals pushing themselves and injuries happen... Football, how many are out, how many knees folded backwards, how many players flipped end over end to land on their head... and they have the benefit of pads... Hockey... every game is a blood count just about busted teeth, jaws broke, boxing.. MMA... the list just goes on and on... non contact sports... baseball.. that ball flies 100 mph and they have a piece of leather wrapped around their hand to catch it.. about he only sport I haven't heard of some serious injury is golf

And also, When that one football player was injured earlier in the season, the one who they said might not walk again, No one said "The NFL doesn't care about its players." did they? I think the WWE Handle it fine, and its stupid of you to even talk about the beniot case in the same article!!!!

Ok, I've watched the WWE/WWF since the mid 80's and for the most part the injuries, are kinda faked. But I've seen some that are just down right ugly, and scary too. I mean all it takes is a wrong high flying move and to land wrong and your a damn cripple.
Just watching that video of Candice is scary cuz you know she was suppost to fall from the top rope, but not land like that.

alot of people take wrestling as a joke. but the injuries are real.
my only issue is that 90% of the wwe divas have little to no training. there only ability is to be eye candy.
