Hoover High Corrupt to Its Core

Remember Hoover High School in Alabama, and its football team profiled on the MTV reality show Two-a-Days? You know, these guys:

I watched the show once, found it just kind of generally creepy, and never watched again.

Now, of course, we know that Hoover wasn't just generally creepy, it was corrupt to its core. Rumors and Rants has a good rundown of the corruption, which includes using an ineligible player, changing football players' grades, pressuring teachers to give benefits to football players, spying on an opponents' practice, and the head coach having "a second family."

Sorry to be cynical, but I've reached the point where I just assume that any high school athletic team that you can watch on TV has to be corrupt. All those administrators who are proud that teenage athletes are making their schools famous ought to be ashamed.
