Is 'Tiger Woods' Off to N.C. State For Baseball?

Listen, I love Tiger Woods* as much as any golf fan, but this is insanity.

It appears Woods has decided to go back to college (he does have two more years of eligibility) to play baseball, and has turned his shoulder on Stanford for North Carolina State. I guess we should have seen this coming, with the long drives and incredible shoulder turn and hand-eye coordination that would make Mickey Mantle weep.

The always amazing Brahsome points out that N.C. State inked the deal with Woods after a late push for the 14-time major champion.
The Wolfpack made a late push to get the right handed slugging first basemen after several other high profile programs backed off in the wake of Woods' torn ACL and stress fractures. Woods looks to push for playing time as a true freshman.
I mean, you give and you give and you give, to charities and fans and Hootie and the Blowfish, and then just when we think you can't give enough, he goes back to college to play another sport for free. I knew Tiger and Michael Jordan were good friends, but following in the footsteps of His Airness' move to the Birmingham Barons? Considering Tiger's at about the same talent level as MJ was at the time of his switch to baseball, it feels like he's now following the same career path as Jordan.

Either way, we at the 'House wish you all the luck in the world, Mr. Woods. Here is hoping to see you at the College World Series before too long.

(* - Just a little note. The guy in the photo above is actually Marlon Mitchell and is apparently a Tiger Woods look-alike ... meaning if he hasn't used the "I am Tiger Woods" line on at least 150 females over the past couple of years he needs a different coach.)
