Spanish matador Israel Lancho is in critical condition after he was gored by a bull in Madrid on Wednesday. The disturbing video is below.
The Daily Mail reports that the 30-year-old Lancho is likely to be in the intensive care unit of a Madrid hospital for several days but is expected to survive. Lancho reportedly has an eight-inch wound in his abdominal area, but the bull's horn missed his heart. The incident took place at the San Isidro's fair in Las Ventas bullring.

Bullfighting is just plain wrong. This is the risk they take.
I'm one that cheers for the bull. I don't know how anyone can call this a sport. If people had their way, they would build arenas just like the romans and sacrifice people. Too bad humans can be so heartless. Only wish the bulls would win more often and put these butchers out of business.
Score one for the bull!
Yeah! Let's hear it for the bull! HOORAY!!!

Poor Lancho! He erred in assessing the bull's state when he went in for the kill. May God heal him quickly.
You sissies, Kitty and Jess, if you don't like bullfighting, don't fight bulls or go to look at news of the bullring. It's an ancient art, and an athletic contest like mountain climbing.
Boy are you stupid!! mountain climbing does not require MANY swords to fight the moutain dumb@$$ the bull is going to die one way or another why don't they let the bull fighter stay in the ring like the bull has too with the swords hanging out of him as they rush the weak poor stupid human to the hospital!!!.
And you are a DUMB A$$. There is no art in killing an animal of lower intelligence than a human. We are supposed to be smarter and have compassion. That bull was fighting for its life. I hope they give it to him, he won that fight. And anyone that supports this 'sport' is just plain MEAN, and we all know MEAN PEOPLE SUCK. Why do all these cruel animal 'sports' come from third world nations, that says it all. Bull fighting, dog fighting, cock fighting. Those people are just animals on two legs, those that support it.
Yeah, but it's different when something is being slowly stabbed to death for fun.. or is it stupid to feel compassion for an animal in pain?
araghanbarian you are such an idiot. The people of Spain are not referred to as wetbacks. The Spanish are blonde blue-eyed europeans that speak Spanish. They conquered many different parts of the world and transferred their language to places such as Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and most of South America. You are a racist and have not addressed the question without even considering a single detail.
But araghanbarian, you are a racist and that was in Spain, not Mexico. So don't be a redneck douche like that.
Good for the BULL!!!!!!! That is one of the inhumane sports(how you can call it a sport is a mystery to me!)!!!!!! I would like to see more madadors have the same out come, even better they lose their lives, then maybe they would ban the so called sport!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God you're stupid! Since when has a mountain died from someone climbing it? The two, are two totally different things. Jeeesh cripes!! How stupid can one be?!
OK first of all this is not a real sport. Secondly it is not polite to play with your food.
Thirdly this is a cruel abusive joke to the bull.
Fourthy this is JUST PLAIN WRONG For the Spanish Youth seeking right of passage, NO THIS ISN'T GOOD FOR THE NUTS. Common sense and decency should have kicked in a while back, DO NOT PLAY WITH BIG WILD ANIMALS.
just like mountain climbing? what planet are you on? i've climbed mountains for years and never wanted to injure an innocent animal for entertainment -- its an ancient excessively cruel "art" that should catch up with the times and end now. just because its ancient does not mean its just and right - it absolutely is not. i suppose you encourage dog fighting too -- drop your ignorance and develop some compassion for all life - including bulls.
Bindy, you are an idiot. Learn how to read, brush up on your history, geography, and then economy. Once you do this you will discover that this occurred in Spain, a country that is one not third world..whatever that means, and two a world super power long before Columbus decided to go sight seeing. Your point has been expressed already by those far more intelligent than you, just leave it up to them and save yourself the embarrassment.
why don't you go fight a bull. I would like to see the bull win that one too.
Athletes don't torture and try to kill the mountain while climbing it. To most of the world bull fighting is animal cruelty pure and simple, but since it no doubt will never be stopped then at least give the devil his due. The bull won. It was a fair fight. If bull fighting is so one sided that the only one that should win and be congratulated is the human then its no art form, its cruel, boreing, and a waste of time. The fact that the bull was better that the matador this time makes it interesting. Good for the bull.
I'm not trying to be critical of your comment, just an FYI: The bull never wins. Ever. He ALWAYS dies, regardless if he may inflict injury, he will still be killed. When this matador was gored he was preparing for the final kill, he was going to thrust the sword he was holding through the bull's neck and down into his heart. He would then cough up a gush of blood, stagger, drop to his knees and die. Prior to this he was to have had the cords in his neck damaged enough to make it difficult for him to lift his head, thereby decreasing his ability to gore. It is never a fair fight, and certainly NOT a sport. I went to the bullfights once on a high school trip to Spain. It left a lasting impression, as it was over 30 years ago. I do not feel badly for the matador.

I have to admit that injury to people in the act of tormenting an animal
