When Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman was arrested on charges of battery and false imprisonment, general manager A.J. Smith called it "disappointing." Don't know if he'll be more or less so in light of the most recent news involving Merriman and his accuser, Tila Tequila.Via 10News.com, multiple sources claim that Tequila "was unhappy that she was not the only woman getting attention from Merriman, and jealousy played a role in the early morning altercation."
So far, it's your typical, run-of-the-mill Springer episode. And then it got spicy.
The sources told [10News.com's Juliette] Vara that witnesses at Merriman's home said the three-time Pro Bowl linebacker went to his bedroom with two women.
Sources said Tequila walked into the room and Merriman asked her to join them. However, the sources said Tequila reacted angrily and threatened to have sex with a member of Merriman's entourage.
According to sources, Tequila was intoxicated, and she got naked and attempted to leave the house.
Of course, these are unnamed sources, so maybe Tequila is being unfairly portrayed as the crazy, jealous type. Or maybe not. Apparently, she spent much of Wednesday evening tweeting about, well, the Chargers sucking. She even had the good sense to include the "#ChargersSuck" hashtag and by early this morning it was a trending topic on Twitter.
And if you think this is all a ploy to embarrass Merriman and the Chargers further, you're wrong. At least according to Tequila:

And nothing screams hormonal imbalance like tweeting all night about the Chargers sucking. Unless you're Marty Schottenheimer.
