Brandon Jacobs Impressed with Jerry Dome, Less So With the Cowboys

To recap: the Cowboys' shiny, new, $1.3 billion stadium has the world's largest HD television too close to the playing surface, Party Pass holders have an exquisite view of, well, other Party Pass holders (but not much else), the concrete and steel behemoth is architecturally uninspiring, and Jerry Jones likes to pick his nose. Oh, and the Cowboys' lost in the first-ever home game in their new digs.

Otherwise, everything went off without a hitch, right? Eh, maybe not.

Giants linebacker Danny Clark told Sirius XM radio that the visitor's locker room at the Jerry Dome wasn't anything special, either. "There's not a lot of hot water in there," Clark said. "[Jones] cut some corners in the bathroom there."

As Alper pointed out to me, though: unmentioned in the same story, Clark is used to using square toilets.

In the scheme of things, hardly a big deal -- no reason to make the opponents too comfortable. But it gives me an opportunity to include these quotes from running back Brandon Jacobs, who, last week, told ESPN.com's Matt Mosley that the Cowboys should have scheduled the Lions instead of the Giants for the grand opening.

"I hate the Cowboys straight up," Jacobs told me. "It's beginning to be a personal thing. And it's been like that since I was a kid. I've been wishing bad things on them for a long time. I was a hateful little kid. Everyone loves them, so I had to hate them."

Asked what he thought about the new stadium, Jacobs said: "It's a beautiful place. It was nice of Jerry to invite us down here. But he better be careful what he asks for next time. Last year, [Jones] said he wanted to play us on Broadway, and then he got his ass beat. They got whooped 35-14 on Broadway."

Well, the cage dancers were a success. There's that.
