Brady Quinn Goes to House of Blues, Gets Clowned by Common

Relatively speaking, it was a good week for Brady Quinn. He didn't spend Sunday afternoon getting body slammed, and for the first time all season, he wasn't primarily responsible for the Browns losing.

Of course, you can't expect Quinn to make it from one Sunday to the next without getting clowned at least once. Which is exactly what happened last Thursday as he took in show at the Cleveland House of Blues. Via the Cleveland Plain-Dealer (via Dawg Pound Daily, FanSided and WL):
Grammy Award-winning rap artist Common delighted the House of Blues crowd in Cleveland on Thursday night with his range as one of the true lyrical talents in hip hop. ...

When Common freestyled, he poked fun during his flow that he "won't mess up like Brady Quinn." Common then mentioned Derek Anderson in the next verse. After some "oohhs" and "ahhs" and a few chuckles from the crowd, it was noticed that Quinn was in the audience with several of his teammates.
Happy ending, though: the Plain-Dealer reports that "At the show, Quinn grinned and took the comments in stride." Right, because after getting benched for Derek Anderson, there's not much you can say that would make Quinn feel any worse.

WHAT IS
BACK PORCH?

The easy answer:
Back Porch exists because FanHouse doesn't have a basement for its bloggers. The bigger picture? BP covers sports news that's funny, off-beat and controversial. In short, it's the other side of sports, covered with an edge. Enjoy.
