Chad Ochocinco appears to have emerged from his funk, the one that consumed him for most of 2007 and part of last season, too. Now he's back to his affable, fun-loving ways, which should serve as a nice distraction when the Bengals begin their inevitable implosion. That descent into mediocrity could start Sunday when Cincy faces Baltimore in a battle for first place in the AFC North. And in preparation for the get-together Mr. Ochocinco, as he's known to do, has commenced with the jibber jabber.
On a Wednesday conference call Chad told reporters what he had in store for the Ravens.
* Clown Domonique Foxworth by calling him Vivica Foxworth.
* Pop Ray Lewis in the mouth.
* Bust out the Ricky Bobby dance if he scores a touchdown.
"It's over," Ochocinco said. "Everybody's going to kiss the damn baby as far as I'm concerned. Anybody lining up in front of me, you know how that goes. When I score, which you know I will do, I have a special thing. It's called the Ricky Bobby. It should be really nice. It's a rule-breaker. I did send the NFL the fine money ahead of time."
Ah, yes, kissing the baby. And for those of you wanting to dance along should Ochocinco find the end zone Sunday, here's a quick Ricky Bobby how-to.*
Oh, and he also plans to fight Terrell Suggs. "I'm not going to knock him out. I want to embarrass him, so I want people to watch as I hit him at will at any given time and he won't be able to hit me."
Foxworth admitted that Chad's comments "doesn't annoy me" before adding, "He's a funny guy, but we're professionals (athletes) ... He's not Chris Rock. He's not hilarious."
