Fox and Burger King Keep It Classy With 'Jessica Simpson Is Fat' Cartoon

Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo are easy fodder for NFL fans, writers and teevee personalities. There's no question that their tabloid-style romance made for easy commentary across the media spectrum.

However, based on this YouTube posted by NBC-DFW's Drew Margary, it appears that Fox is taking things a little too far. (At least judging by their readership: 45 percent were feeling "furious," 30 percent were "laughing," and 14 percent "didn't know what an internet was," which sounds about right when talking about Cowboy fans.)

Video after the jump.

But yeah, all jokes aside, this really isn't cool. Or funny. And it's only worth writing about because Burger King -- home of the fatty, mind you! -- decided to poke fun at Simpson in a inappropriate manner on national television.

If I'm Simpson, I'm testing the standards of libel and slander as they apply to cartoons to see how much my legal team might be able to squeeze out of the Home of the Whopper. But then again, I'm litigious, so what the hell do I know? (Except, unlike most Cowboy fans, how to read.)

WHAT IS
BACK PORCH?

The easy answer:
Back Porch exists because FanHouse doesn't have a basement for its bloggers. The bigger picture? BP covers sports news that's funny, off-beat and controversial. In short, it's the other side of sports, covered with an edge. Enjoy.
