On Sunday, FOX ran a cartoon on its NFL pregame show making fun of Jessica Simpson for being fat and Tony Romo for dating a fat chick. Hilarity did not ensue. And after reflection, on Wednesday FOX apologized.
FOX issued a statement saying it shouldn't have run the cartoon, and making clear that no one should blame Burger King for any involvement in the cartoon. FOX's statement, via the Dallas Morning News:
"Burger King did not have any editorial input in the creation of the animation that ran last Sunday, and no one from Burger King Corp., approved it before it aired. Upon reflection, our poor attempt at humor was insensitive, and we deeply apologize to anyone who might have been offended."The whole skit was incredibly stupid, and I agree with Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that FOX should really be apologizing for the fact that it wasn't funny.

Just to make it CLEAR....FOX NETWORK is the same channel that also airs shows like The Simpsons & Family Guy. It is NOT the FOX NEWS channel!!! I never liked either one of those shows (Simpsons & Family Guy). The are affiliated with 20th Century Fox.
Donna -- Just to actually make it clear, the FOX network and FOX News are both owned by News Corp. Your belief that they have nothing to do with each other is simply wrong. The fact that they produce entertainment programs which are consistently based on negative, anti-family humor on the one hand, while purporting to support "family-values" on the other should tell you something.
