12-Year-Old Outdrives Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods is a decent golfer (duh). He can hit the ball farther than most normal humans off the tee (again, duh). And if he ever went head-to-head in a driving contest against some random person from New Jersey on a golf course in North Carolina, and said random person was a 12-year-old, he would win the driving contest pretty easily, right?

In the words of the Lee Corso, "Not so fast my friend." Turns out, Tiger actually got beatdown by New Jersey native Mark Beneveto, Jr., while showing off his new course in Asheville.
"I don't really think I beat [Tiger], but I think I did pretty good," said the 12-year-old duffer.
Easy, fella. NBCPhilly has video of the whole shebang, and while it's not a "beating," here's basically what happened: Tiger hit two drives into the woods and dared someone in the crowd to do better. He then picked Mark and the youngster roped two bombs (about 200 yards each) down the center of the fairway.
"He called me from the crowd of, like, 100 people," said Mark. "I wasn't really nervous but then I got nervous when I stepped up."

Woods handed Mark the driver and with an easy swing, the South Jersey boy hit a straight shot down the middle, about 200 yards. In humorous disbelief, Woods said, "Do that again. We've got to see that again."
It's almost disturbing how impressed Woods is while realizing how old Mark is (much like the 71-year-old lady who played through an Iowa game despite a broken hip) and I can't say I blame him -- I'm impressed whenever I play golf with Bacon and he manages to hit the ball 200 yards down the center, and he's certainly older than 12. Physically anyway.

But the point being this: would you really be shocked to ever see this kid on the PGA Tour? He smoked two drives with Tiger watching, which is something that half the professional golfers out there right now can't manage to do.
