Touchdown-Less Titans Cost Tennessee Natives Tons of Pizza Toppings

Papa John's is the kind of place that has pretty decent deals, although you usually end up getting screwed because they advertise "two large one-topping pizzas for $17.99" (read straight from the coupon in the pile of mail on my coffee table, actually), and then you end up getting two more toppings to each pizza at $1.50 per pop, adding some Cinnastix for $4.99, and then paying $0.50 for extra garlic sauce and some of that artery-clogging-but-delicious cheese sauce.

Digression aside, no one's gonna get hosed like Tennessee Titans fans did last Sunday when Papa John's offered to give them a free topping on a $9.99 large pizza ... for every touchdown the Titans scored against the Patriots.

Now, in case you didn't manage to see the glorious Tom Brady fantasy football party that was the Titans-Pats game, here's the skinny: everyone who called Papa John's got straight cheese. This is what happens when you get beatdown 59-0.

Of course, it's not like the pizza joint jinxed the Titans -- they were just obviously overwhelmed by both talent and weather. Nothing they could have done, short of shattering Brady's knee again, was going to keep them from getting whipped.

So, Titans fans, just take your anger out on Jeff Fisher and his Peyton Manning-loving ways, and don't fret about having to drop your pizza quality by calling up Domino's.
