In less than a week, the news of the Steve Phillips-Brooke Hundley affair broke, ESPN issued a public statement on the matter, and today both Phillips and Hundley no longer work at the World Wide Leader. Via the Associated Press: "An ESPN spokesman says the production assistant whose affair with Steve Phillips led to the baseball analyst's firing is no longer with the sports network.
Spokesman Mike Soltys said Monday that Brooke Hundley doesn't work at ESPN anymore. He declined to say whether she quit or was fired. Hundley did not immediately return a phone message Monday."
According to her cached LinkedIn.com page, Hundley, a 2008 Ithaca College graduate, interned at HBO, and "Jimmy Kimmel Live", and served as a production assistant for NBC during the 2008 Summer Olympics before landing at ESPN in September, 2008.
Meanwhile, a representative for Phillips announced that the former Mets general manager was entering a treatment facility "to address his personal issues."

Why do we freak out over sexual affairs and work affairs. No one fired JFK and he was doing everyone. This guy is nothing more than an anchor.

The only consolation is that Steve is attracted to the opposite sex. Obviously not a republican politician.

Annonying that Phillips receives the humiliation associated with being fired and the ESPN spokesman, some no-nugget dolt by the name of Soltys, will only state Hundley is no longer with the company.
Oh, and Chaos, billiant reply there. It's irrelevant and off the point but at least you make up for it by being dull and unimaginative. I mean, if you're going to take up space at least be clever.

They BOTH got what they deserved...he, because he cheated in his wife/family, and she, because she KNEW he was married and spread her legs anyway. Funny, but she is cut from the same bolt of cloth that Monica Lewinsky came from, tuning Clinton's skin flute in the Oval Office one day and smiling at Hillary the next...a couple of ambitious whores!

He should have been fired. It was no more than right that she lose her job as well. She should be in jail for what she did. Ole lover boy Stevie chose not to press charges, but he was not the one being threatened by the stalker; his wife and children were! Good thing the wife is now seeking a divorce! Some ignorant people argue that an affair is a personal matter that is no one else's business. However, just about every law we have resulted from personal matters that became public matters. "Crime of passion" has been a viable defense for centuries that have enabled many murdering spouses to walk free after not guilty verdicts were returned by sympathetic juries. And look at all the damage that is caused when broken homes result from "harmless, personal affairs." The children don't just adapt and move on. The hurt and pain they feel is carried with them into every relationship they subsequently have. There is just too much psychological damage for anyone to say an affair is just a "personal matter."

Well said. Psychologically, affairs can wreck a child, make the spouse that was cheated on feel like they are going crazy, and ultimately, damage families for life.

I am so proud and blessed to be an American, but our justice system is pretty bad!!
"Crimes of Passion", "Temporary Insanity"
What's the new one about infidelity and suing the lover for millions?
What a joke!

There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man (or woman) in everlasting ignorance-- that principle is contempt prior to investigation.

It's not that ESPN decided to become the moral police. It's ALL about ratings. The quicker they put this episode behind them, the better. They only waited to fire Miss Piggy when their lawyers told the CEO there's no legal ramifications.
