Chiefs running back Larry Johnson had just 16 carries for 49 yards against the Chargers, and the light workload left him with plenty of energy after the game to fire up his Twitter Machine.
Johnson, clearly unhappy with the team's 1-6 start -- and more specifically, his diminishing role in it -- sounded off about it all via Twitter. Insanity after the jump:

It's at this point that I should point out that Larry Johnson's Twitter feed hasn't been verified. And more than that, LJ's agent has already gone into damage control.
Via ESPN.com's Bill Williamson:
The agent for Kansas City running back Larry Johnson said late Sunday night that his client was simply trying to promote his own father and not to discredit Chiefs coach Todd Haley in a Twitter rant Sunday.
"I talked to Larry about it and he was focusing more on pumping up his father than anything else," agent Peter Schaffer said. "He wasn't trying to downgrade anyone ... yes, everyone is frustrated after a loss like this but I wouldn't put too much into it."
Can't imagine this will end well, particularly since LJ played the golf card. The Kansas City Star's Kent Babb writes that first-year head coach Todd Haley doesn't like talking about his days as a college golfer.
Haley wants to be known as a successful football coach, at least in his previous stops, and his background as a golf coach and pro golfer isn't something he likes discussing. He has told me several times that it's just something in his past, and he'd just as soon leave it behind. ...Jamaal Charles, your Kansas City Chiefs starting running back, everybody!
It makes sense that [Haley would] like to quiet his career's detours, and knowing how conscious Haley is of that fact, it's even more revealing to me that LJ hit Haley tonight where it hurt.

Larry needs to come to Pittsburgh to play for the Steelers. He'll get his carries there & resurrect his career, ala Jerome Bettis.......

Are you that ignorant? Mendenhall, Moore, and Parker are the complete backfield Pittsburgh has to offer. If he should go somewhere to get more playing time, he should go to the Patriots or the Eagles.

Ah, life was so much better when we would just mutter our disapproval for something to ourselves. These social networking sites eliminate an important filter for our rants, namely talking to ourselves like a crazy person!

I'm guessing Mr. Wilson has a personal axe to grind with PSU. There is no other logical reason for such a cheap shot. C'mon, Wilson, 'fess up. What? You didn't get accepted at Penn State?

there are 32 teams with 45 man rosters =1440 + PRACTICE SQUAD 10 OR 12= 320= players total 1700+ players in the NFL so you say there are 391 FELONS? please tell me 50 of the felons which would be 3% and there are not nearly that many, society has that percentage so it only mirrors what you call real world

I'm shocked this topic was needed to throw in a cheap shot to Penn State education. I guess people are jealous of a school that they are unable to get into and it hurts them for the rest of their life.

2009 enrollment at PSU: 94,000+. Doesn't sound too tough to get in.

Awesome dig at Penn State. BTW, no way Johnson would have gotten in there if he didn't play football.

Everything is relative. The PSU comment was definitely a cheap shot. I agree that LJ's comments/grammar leave something to be desired, and reflect poorly on PSU. LJ has a poor record when it comes to exercising restraint and discretion, and this is an example. This is particularly true because PSU has always been in the top tier of academics relative to athletes. Check entrance requirements, graduation rates, GPAs, academic All-Americans, etc, against other 1A schools and see where the various schools stand relative to PSU. I've long been proud of the way PSU athletes communicate and represent themselves, and show their character. There are always exceptions, of course, but check out Curt Warner and Todd Blackledge, and Franco Harris, and many others -- I'd say they are more typical of the PSU athlete than LJ. He is just not real mature, and yes, it does reflect poorly. But in y view, the exception proves the rule here.

LJ is just a big baby like so many of the NFL. Nothing going for him but a little talent in football. Crooks and criminals, dumb and unable to do anything else, sports seems to be full of them these days. I just can't get into football and basketball and baseball anymore. What a bummer!

I'm surprised at the reaction about Penn State...people can't help but take some peoples comments to the next level and in turn make themselves look like the jackass. Point is, Larry Johnson is garbage and who cares if his dad played for the coach from "remember the titans"...just another terrible Disney movie period.
