Elizabeth Lambert is a New Mexico women's soccer player who turned the BYU vs. New Mexico game in the Mountain West Conference Tournament this week into a brawl.Lambert was seen elbowing, pushing, pulling hair and kicking BYU players in one of the most shocking displays of dirty play you'll ever see. BYU won the game 1-0, and BYU freshman forward Carlee Payne, who scored the only goal, said afterward that it was a rough game:
"It was a very tough game, very physical," Payne said. "They wanted it as badly as we did but we were able to get the goal. It was a close game but no one thought that would be the only score to go in."There's been no word from the Mountain West Conference about what action will be taken against Lambert, but it should be substantial. This was some of the dirtiest play you'll ever see, in any sport.
UPDATE: Lambert has been suspended.

Equality is equality all the way around..
Well its a good thing she doesnt play for Florida or she would be thrown a parade
Oh please, come off of it.
fair play, she would have hair salon hall along with the spikes eye clinic
A bunch of you must be BYU alumni or Mormons. Yes, the NMU player was wrong to retalitate as strongly as she did, but she was REACTING, NOT ACTING OUT FIRST. The first girl punched her in the gut. I would have hit her back too!! The second girl was whipped by her hair to the ground, but take a close look at the video. The BYU was pulling on her shorts. Not that big of a deal you say. She may had her by the shorts AND THE SHORT HAIRS. If she did, who can't say that sh!t doesn't hurt!!!!! I would have whipped her to the ground and stomped her head!!!
Good one greatqb44! hehehehe
Hilarious last line!!!!!!
Oh ha ha. You're funny. Happen to see the article where the Georgia players were saying that Spikes shouldn't be suspended at all? Bet not.
Dumbass
C'mon dude, nobody is named Tyrone "Bubba" Eubendorfer III. Your name is Brucey, or maybe Normy, possibly doofus, and certainly stupid.
To play that dirty and have no sense of sportsmanship that girl needs her butt thrown off of the team period
To play that dirty and have no sense of sportsmanship that girl needs to have a reality check and have her butt thrown off of the team period
Tyrone is right. In fact, #21 looked to me like she likes getting it from the girls, and the defender said she doesn't play on that side of the field. Both the grab and the hairpull were hot. LOL!
BYU deserves everything they get
very intelligent comment
how do you figure?
I have played soccer all my life. It appears this girl got sick of the cheap shots the other team was taken and they were baiting her. If you watch the first couple fouls, the other team actually did something to her first. It doesn't make it right, but it's a fact. If you look at the clip where she yanks the girl's pony tail, the girl has a handful of her shorts and it appears was trying to do other damage when she was ripped to the ground by her hair. She looks to me to be a feisty defender. I was one of those too.
There's feisty defender and then there's dangerous player...two completely different things. I have two girls that have played for many years, and I've seen that girls are rougher than boys, and meaner, too! But there are ways to use your body when you play that aren't assulting the other player. When a player elbows you when you're standing right behind her, you give her a little 'love-tap' with you body/ shoulder, and that doesn't look like a punch to the center of the other players back.
You are nuts! The reaction was just a bit over the top.
New Mexico should be suspended from all soccer playing until she can distinguish between rough play and downright meaness. If that coach has any respect for the game of soccer, she will not play again this year.
Elizabeth Lambert of the New Mexico women's soccer team has been suspended from all athletics at the school indefinitely. This includes practices, team meetings etc. By the way anyone who believes that BYU players instigated that type of retaliation is playing with 1 card short of a full deck.
