I don't know what's more troubling: the fact that Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath has a yellow Lab that has been declared "dangerous" by the Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control, or what the consequences entail for the condemned six-year-old dog.

According to the Associated Press, the dog, named Leo, has attacked several people at Namath's South Florida home in recent years and as a result, is now deemed "dangerous." Which in the canine world is just like a scarlet letter, save the part about dogs not wearing any clothes or being able to read.
As a dangerous dog, Leo must now be muzzled and leashed even on Namath's property. It must have a microchip implanted and carry a special "dangerous" dog designation tag. Namath must also now post signs on his property warning of the dog's presence.
And if Leo has another incident, he could be declared "vicious" right before he is declared "euthanized."

Namath declined to comment.

In related news, Leo drunkenly tried to make out with Cesar Millan during a recent PetCo commercial shoot, and that precipitated the current investigation.*
