I would argue that Tiger Woods is the most recognizable athlete on the planet. Sure, more people might know the name "Michael Jordan" or "Brett Favre" but I firmly believe that 90 percent of the world's population who get a chance to see Tiger immediately recognize him. (Does that make sense? No? Moving on...)Anyway, he was introduced at halftime of the Stanford-Cal game Saturday (he's a Stanford alum), when Cal fans decided to boo him. Tiger appeared rattled at first (ostensibly looking around for Mr. Weekley) before recovering and claiming that the Cardinal would take care of business in the second half.

You are certainly right about people recognizing Tiger. There are billions of people who have no idea who he is or what he does. Sort of puts his celebrity in a little different perspective.
I don't know if he can be classified as an "alum," can he? I don't believe he even finished his second year there. Don't you have to graduate to be considered an alum? I would appreciate a knowledgeable answer.
Great comment about him looking around for Boo.
AFTER TIGER'S FATHER PASSED AWAY, TIGER FULFILLED
A PROMISE TO HIS DAD AND GRADUATED. I DON,T THINK
THEY WE'RE BOOING HIM BECAUSE OF NOT COMPLETING
HIS EDUCATION! TIGER HAS GIVEN SO MUCH BACK TO
THE YOUNG PEOPLE OF THE WORLD WITH HIS FOUNDATION.
THAT JUST SHOW'S HOW IGNORANT PEOPLE CAN BE, HE DOES NOT OWE ANYBODY ANYTHING EXCEPT FOR HIS FAMILY!
who?
You do not have to graduate from a college to be considered an alumnus. You must have attended and taken classes there.
Not likely to get trashier than YOU Eltonb222.
No, it is not necessary to graduate to be considered an alum. It is only necessary that the alum attended the particular school.
rholtnumismatic: Tiger NEVER graduated from Stanford or any other college for that matter. However, after having become the first athlete to achieve the earnings of over 1 billion dollars, it would appear that he does not need to. -- But as for you, rholtnumismatic, I sure hope your are more knowledgeable of currency than you are of sports.
To rholtnumismatic: Tiger NEVER graduated from Stanford, or any other college for that matter. But since he has been the first athelete to have acquired the status of a billionaire, it would appear he doesn't need to. However YOU, rholtnumismatic, I hope are more knowledgeable of currency than you are of sports.
An alum (alumnus) is simply someone who attended the school, graduation is not a prerequisite to being called an alum.
Many people make that mistake. Alumni are former students OR graduates of a school, college, or university.
I was at teh game, and booed Tiger.
Welcome to the Big Game son.
At least Tiger probably knows how to spell,"the!" I hope you're not a Cal grad because you seem ignorant. It would be, "Welcome to the Big Game, son." Learn spelling and grammar before you spout off!
You are not smarter than you think you are!!!
I just want to say my son,who doesn't play golf, wrote a paper on why Tiger Woods is a Renassaince(sorry for the spelling)Man of the Century. He did the research and found that this young athlete takes everything that he has in heart and continues to help the youth of our future. So let it be known whether he did or didn't graduate has nothing to do what he is giving back today. And those young kids in the stands one day whether you graduate or not if you come close to what he does, you should shut your mouth. And, umm another thing he had his baby girl there. Grow up to those fans
Do Cal grads not even know how to spell "the?"
you are a redneck clown.too bad you can't play golf and can't give back to people.it takes all kinds.just that you are the type who can't contribute to society in a positive way.
how did you get to see the game when your job was to be working taking the trash out.
spend some time learning how to SPELL A.H.
uh, tiger has been in the 'big game' for awhile now. you sit in the stands and boo, he plays an 18 hole playoff in US Open conditions with a broken leg and wins.
you don't know what 'the big game' is. 'the big game'? what the hell does that mean? certainly not a college football game....
to bad you can't spell.......
Everyone is a critic of you booing Tiger Woods. I, myself, although you do have the American right to your opinion, is wondering, why? Do you have that much hate for him or did you do it just because everyone else in the stands was doing it? Not trying to judge, but curious.
