Tiger Woods, injured early Friday when he lost control of his SUV outside his Florida mansion, may have been arguing with his wife, Elin Nordegren, before getting behind the wheel, alleges celebrity gossip site TMZ.com. The world's No. 1 golfer was treated and released from a hospital in good condition, his spokesman said. The Florida Highway Patrol said Woods' vehicle hit a fire hydrant and a tree in his neighbor's yard after he pulled out of his driveway at 2:25 AM.
The accident came two days after the National Enquirer published a story alleging that Woods had been seeing a New York night club hostess, and that they recently were together in Melbourne, where Woods competed in the Australian Masters.
The woman, Rachel Uchitel, pictured above attending a Feb. 2005 fashion show, denied having an affair with Woods when contacted by the AP.
"I resent my reputation is getting completely blasted in the media," she said during a telephone interview late Friday. "Everyone is assuming I came out and said this. This is not a story I have anything to do with."
Uchitel said she was in Melbourne two weeks ago with clients and never saw Woods the entire time she was there.
A representative of the National Enquirer declined comment.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating Woods' accident as a "traffic crash," with spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Montes indicating, "We don't believe it is a domestic issue."
TMZ is reporting an alternate version of events, citing a source who claims Woods' facial lacerations were actually caused by his wife before he entered the vehicle. From TMZ's report early Saturday morning:
Tiger has yet to be formally interviewed by the Florida Highway Patrol -- that should happen this afternoon. But we're told Tiger had a conversation Friday -- with a non-law enforcement type -- detailing what went down before his Escalade hit a fire hydrant.Until TMZ produces a corroborating source this version of events should be considered pure speculation.
We're told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We're told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV -- but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club.
We're told Woods became "distracted," thought the vehicle was stopped, and looked to see what had happened. At that point the SUV hit the fire hydrant and then hit a tree.
Sgt. Montes did confirm that Woods has yet to formally speak with the Patrol about his accident; two troopers tried to talk to Woods on Friday evening, but his wife said he was sleeping and they agreed to come back Saturday.
No matter what explanation he gives the Patrol for the accident, the public may never find out what exactly happened, especially given Woods' notoriously private nature.

The TMZ story is a scnerio I did not consider. Everyone in the TV media, especially ESPN holds Tiger in high regard and are always saying what an upstandingfather, husband, son, and friend he is.
My first thought was -- wht was Tiger leaving his home, with a wife and 2 babies inside, at 225am?
I speculated he was not leaving home, but arrioving home, and arriving home drunk.
A high percentage of DUI crashes occur within a mile of a persons home and around 2am.
The media does not have the diagram of the accident, (as , if you were ever in a fender bender, you know it is standand in any police accidnet report).
The media does not have the 911 audio.
The media does not have the photos of the SUV taken at the scene.
The police do not have the secuirty tapes form the guard house to the gated community, or secuirty tapes from Wood's home or neighbor's homes.
The police would need a court order at this point to get the Blood alcohol results form the hospital,.. because he was not taken there under arrest or charged at the time of treatment.
Despite TMZ's brillant theory,... I still think it is a DUI. And a cover up.
If the neighbors have security camera footage they should come forweard. If the guard house at the community has secuirty camera footage of Tiger entering the community just tbefiore the accident, they should come forward.
DUI is very serious. Next time Tiger could get killed or someone else may get killed, in a more severe accident.
When his wife found out he was playing "hide the salami" with Rachel Uchitel, she grabbed a club and chased his sissy ass out of the house. Instead of taking it like a man, he jumped in his SUV, with her beating on it with a golf club, took off and the rest is history. a real "candy azz"

Florida is a community property state and Elin would get 1/2 of everything Woods owns and would get bigtime child support. Elin would definitely be better off and live a much happier life with at least 1/2 billion plus child support for 2 kids.

Lots of unanswered questions - not that TW has any obligaiton to answer to anyone except law enforcemnt. Don't be naive - How many single car accidents occur outside one's house @ 2:00 - 3:00 AM that do not involve alcohol or some other "scandalous" activity? Tiger et. al. say the accident was "minor," yet he was reported in & out of consciousness upon police arrival. The police "believe" alcohol was not involved but they do not report administering a blood alchol test; sounds like local police covering up for local big time celebrity.
No, Tiger is not required to provide answers to anyone but law-enforcement, his family, himself, and his God, however he makes serious money from the public. Until he answers truthfully & completely his reputation is sullied. The American people are extremely forgiving - if you're honest with them. Otherwise, they have a great memory.

She hit the car with a golf club and made it crash into the tree. It sounds like she has more power in her golf swing that her husband. It sounds like she's more powerful than, Cameron, the female robot in the Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles. If she can swing a golf club that hard, then she can make more money in golf than her husband. I also think that story is made up. We're in the age of internet bloggers who make up stuff and it's just rumor. Look at how Perez Hilton reported that Cuban commie Fidel Castro is dead. Maybe Hilton thought he was a zombie from Night of the living dead.

A domestic case can blow over quickly, especially when it is made up. The Woods' make up, and the advertisers don't get scared.
A DUI is much more serious if real.
No one believes it was an inocent accident either way. If it was innocent a more complete story and statement would have came out from Tiger.
I truly believe it was DUI, and it is Tiger himself spinning the domestic violence side to cover up the DUI.
