We're four days into the soap opera that has become Tiger Woods' life, and the world's best golfer still hasn't met with police to explain how he ran over a hydrant and hit a tree at 2:30 Friday morning. And chances are, he won't. So while the shine on Woods' once-spotless reputation has lost some of its luster, advertisers have yet to be scared away. CNBC.com's Darren Rovell writes that Swiss watch company Tag Heuer and consulting firm Accenture -- two companies Tiger endorses -- ran ads in today's USA Today and Wall Street Journal, respectively.
Swiss watch company Tag Heuer has an ad with Woods on the front of the Life section of USA Today that reads "What are you made of?" Accenture has an ad in the Wall Street Journal that has Tiger walking through fescue with the line "The road to high performance isn't always paved."Timely, that Accenture ad.
Rovell adds: "The consultancy firm has been running a series of spots featuring Woods in various stages of trouble all year, presumably to sell their consulting services to help clients through these tough times."
Sometimes, the road isn't paved at all. And you end up running over a fire hydrant, ramming a tree, and having your golf-club-wielding wife standing over you while waiting for the ambulance -- and Accenture, no doubt -- to help you cope with "these tough times."
These spots virtually write themselves.

i think people need to just leave him and his family alone its only because he has money that people are making a big deal out of what happen people make mistakes every day and u dont hear or read about them hitting a fire hydren in the news media.so what if he had or has a mistress if he does the only person he has to answer to is his wife thats who this is between its not for the whole united states to know bout, let him and his family live their lives the way they want, thats whats wrong with people to busy worried about what the next door neighboor is doin dont have time to pay attention to their own.im glad he is ok and be thankful is was not worse.hopw him and his family have a safe and happy holiday.
I do not believe that the public has a right to Tiger Woods personal life details! Privacy issues are disappearing quickly for every person on this earth. Put yourself in his position! It could be you! For heaven sake, get a life! Why are some persons so eager to destroy someone who is so successful? Live your own life and leave others alone.
I agree with you 100%, brosedye. By Florida law, Tiger Woods does not have to explain anything to the police, and he certainly owes no explanations to the media and general public. I am so sick and tired of all of the speculation and nastiness that is being spread about him. He's a good person, and his personal life is exactly that - HIS personal life!!
While this incident is unfortunate for all involved, I think people need to reflect on what this young man has meant to the golf world. Because of Tiger, his fellow competitors have raised their game in order to just compete with him. Total purses have escalated because of Tiger's presence. Television coverage and sponsorship contracts have greatly improved since he joined the Tour. More people are taking up golf now than at any time in history and from all economic backgrounds. Tiger's Foundation has provided more access to today's technology for children who would normally not have that opportunity. Television ratings soar when he's in any tournament field and his fellow players on the PGA Tour will tell you that. His private life is his business and no one elses. Unfortunately, the life of any celebrity is constantly scrutinized by the media and anything slightly negative gets blown completely out of proportion. Leave this young man alone. He deserves his privacy.....give it to him and his family.
Leave TW alone!! I know that it sells, but a man's personal life is his personal life. How would you like to be on the front page after a minor collision? Get a life!!!
Sometimes, people who have fame and fortune early in life are bored by it all. They need new avenues of adventure as they have already had everything money can buy. They seek thrills by doing inappropriate things, it's a new rush that they can't buy, the danger of being caught.
